Dr. Peter Droste

Company founder, sole owner and Chief Executing Officer is Dr. Peter Droste, M.C.S.

From 2006 to 2013, Dr. Peter Droste was a member of the staff of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wiechert, University of Siegen and later Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. In seven years of research he became expert in visualization especially in the application field of systems biology as well as expert for the user interface framework Qt. Dr. Peter Droste is the original author of the visualization program Omix and holds all intellectual rights and trademarks of Omix, which are now represented and commercialized by Omix Visualization GmbH & Co. KG. Since 2009, he is developing the ongoing open source project QtJambi.

Vita

Since 2000, Peter Droste studied computer science with focus on media science, computer graphics and visualization at the University of Siegen, Germany, and finished his M.C.S. in 2006. Thereafter, he continued by making his doctoral degree which he succeeded in 2011 with Magna Cum Laude.

Since 2009, he was visiting researcher and from 2011 to 2013 research assistant at the institute IBG-1: Biotechnology, Forschungszentrum Jülich. In May 2013, he founded Omix Visualization GmbH & Co. KG to continue his successful scientific work in the private commercial sector. The business plan of Dr. Droste was awarded in phase I of the AC² Business Plan Contest 2012 and nominated in phase II.

In 2020, he published a Qt5-compatible version of QtJambi on GitHub followed by a Qt6-compatible version in 2021. Since 2021, he publishes QtJambi quarterly.

Personal Remark

Dr. Peter Droste is married, father of five children and lives in Lennestadt, South-Westphalia, Germany.
